This website is operated by Shiva Ojaroodi of RA Realty Alliance Inc., a licensed real estate professional in British Columbia (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
The website runs on BrokerPilot, a website and client-management platform. BrokerPilot stores and processes information on our behalf as our service provider and does not use it for its own marketing.
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, phone and/or email, how you heard about us, and your message. If you tick the box to get new-listing alerts, we also email you new listings in the area this site covers; every alert email has an unsubscribe link.
- Home value estimate: your property address, name, email and (optionally) phone. We email you the estimate, keep a record of it, and may follow up with a comparable-sales report.
- Home Radar: your email and address (name optional). With your consent we email you a report and alerts when homes near you list or sell.
- Listing alerts and saved searches: your name, email and the search you saved, so we can email you matching listings.
- Free account: your name, email, a password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form) and optionally your phone, plus the homes and searches you save. An account lets you see sold prices and save favourites.
- Open-house sign-in and listing enquiries: your name, email, phone, your message, and whether you are working with a REALTOR®.
- “Ask Rea” on listing pages: the questions you type are sent to an AI service to generate an answer about that listing. Please don’t include sensitive personal details.
Some forms also add you to our monthly market newsletter. The form tells you when it does, and every issue has an unsubscribe link.
Information collected automatically
- Pages you visit: the page, the site that referred you, your IP address and your browser type. We use this to understand which pages are useful and to see which pages a person who contacts us looked at.
- Where you came from: if you arrive from an ad or campaign link, we record the campaign details (for example UTM tags and ad click IDs) and your first page, so we know which marketing works.
- Spam protection: we check form submissions against your IP address and email to block automated abuse. Submissions that look like spam are set aside with those details.
This site uses these cookies:
vid: a random ID that recognises your browser between visits (2 years).bp_ftandbp_lc: your first page and the campaign link you arrived from (90 days).bp_visitor: keeps you signed in, only if you create an account (30 days).
This site also uses Google Analytics to measure visits and advertising. These services set their own cookies and receive information about your visit, such as the pages you view and your device. You can block them with your browser’s privacy settings or an ad blocker.
How we use your information
- To answer your questions and provide the real estate services you ask for.
- To send you what you signed up for: estimates, reports, listing alerts and the newsletter.
- To follow up by email, phone or text message about your enquiry, if you gave us those details.
- To keep the website secure and working, and to understand how it is used.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who helps us
We share information only with service providers who help us run this website and contact you:
- BrokerPilot: website hosting and our contact database, on servers in Toronto, Canada.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Twilio or Dialpad: our phone and text-message service, if we call or text you.
- Anthropic: the AI service behind “Ask Rea”, also used to help draft follow-up messages, which we review.
- Google Firebase: delivers a notification to our phone when you contact us, including your name.
- CARTO and OpenStreetMap: map images; your browser requests them directly.
- Google Analytics: measures how visitors use the site.
- YouTube and Vimeo: play videos embedded on some listing pages.
We may also share information with our brokerage, RA Realty Alliance Inc., as required for real estate services, and where the law requires it.
Some of these providers are located in the United States, so your information may be processed and stored outside Canada and be subject to the laws of those countries.
Your choices
- Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Reply STOP to any text message to stop texts.
- If you have an account, you can delete your saved searches or pause their emails at any time.
- You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, withdraw your consent, or have it deleted, by contacting us below.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or for as long as you remain in contact with us. When you ask us to delete it, we will, except for records we must keep by law, for example records of real estate transactions.
Security
The website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Account passwords are stored only in hashed form, and access to our contact database is limited to us and our service providers.
